This policy explains how personal data is processed on the Video Store Chaos website. Personal data is information that can identify you. The website operator identified below and the providers described in the hosting section process this data.

Technical connection data is processed when you visit the website to deliver its content and keep it secure. We receive additional information if you contact us by email or phone. The landing page has no contact forms, visitor registration or newsletter subscription. Its own code uses no analytics or advertising services.

3. Hosting and technical connection data

Website delivery

When requesting a page or file, your browser transmits information including your IP address, date and time, requested address, browser type and version, operating system and, where applicable, the previous page (referrer). The server also processes technical information such as response status and data volume. This is needed to deliver content, diagnose errors and prevent abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is providing our information securely and reliably.

Connection data is processed for the duration of transmission. Where technical logs are retained, retention depends on their necessity for diagnosing errors and securing operation. Entries related to a specific security incident may be retained until it is resolved and, where necessary, to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The specific log settings and deletion periods for the public webspace have not yet been determined and will be added before it goes live. Our website code does not generate visitor statistics or combine this data with other sources.

The intended public hosting provider is ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, proprietor René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. It provides the webspace and processes technical data required for delivery and security. ALL-INKL states that its data centres are located in Germany. Provider information: ALL-INKL privacy information.

Using a hosting provider as a processor requires an agreement under Article 28 GDPR. Before this domain goes live, coverage under the existing data processing agreement will be checked. Additional webspace visitor statistics are not intended for the website described here.

4. Features, cookies, fonts and media

Countdown and language

The release countdown is calculated directly in your browser using the configured release date and your device's current time. It sends no additional data to a server for that calculation. The page address (/de/ or /en/) determines the language; the selection is not saved in a cookie or browser storage. The image gallery also operates locally in your browser.

Locally hosted images, fonts and trailer

The logo, screenshots, fonts and video file are served by the respective website host. This involves the connection data described in the hosting section. These resources do not establish connections to external font or video portals. The trailer is loaded and played only after you press play. There are no YouTube, Vimeo, Steam or social media embeds.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our interest in presenting the game. Your browser may cache files and buffer the video for display and playback; this is not used to recognise you for advertising. You can clear cached website data through your browser settings.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website's own code sets no cookies, uses neither Local Storage nor Session Storage and contains no fingerprinting, analytics pixels or consent management tool. No optional services requiring consent are embedded. Storage or access strictly necessary for transmitting a communication or providing a function you explicitly request is covered by the exception in section 25(2) TDDDG; otherwise, consent under section 25(1) TDDDG would be required before the relevant access. The separate information about private preview access control in section 3 still applies.

5. Links to Steam and other websites

Steam, the profiles in our legal notice and linked information sources are ordinary external links. You access those services only when you follow a link. Their providers then receive the connection data needed for that request; further processing is governed by their privacy information. Our external web links use referrer protection to prevent the browser from sending the originating page address.

The landing page's social media slots marked “Soon” or “Bald” are currently inactive and do not connect to those platforms. Ordinary profile links added later will not load social media content within this website either.

6. Contact and retention

If you contact us by email or phone, we process the details you provide, including contact information, the content and time of your enquiry, to respond and handle follow-up questions. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies if the enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract. Otherwise, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies, based on our legitimate interest in appropriately handling enquiries. The email and telecommunications services you use are involved in transmitting your message.

Data is deleted when its purpose no longer applies and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion. Where statutory retention is required, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR applies and the data is deleted after the relevant period. Providing information is voluntary; without a way to contact you or the information needed to handle your enquiry, we may be unable to respond.

7. General information and your rights

We treat personal data confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection law and this policy. Internet communication, particularly unencrypted email, may have security vulnerabilities. The online preview uses HTTPS/TLS. HTTPS is also planned for the public website.

Recipients include the hosting and communications providers described in this policy. Other disclosures require a legal obligation or another applicable legal basis, for example to establish or defend legal claims. We do not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

Access, rectification and erasure

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you may obtain access to your stored personal data, its origin, recipients and processing purposes free of charge (Article 15 GDPR). You may request correction of inaccurate information or completion of incomplete information (Article 16 GDPR). You have a right to erasure where the statutory conditions are met (Article 17 GDPR).

Restriction of processing and data portability

Under Article 18 GDPR, you may request restriction of processing, particularly while disputed accuracy or an objection is being assessed, instead of erasure where processing is unlawful, or if you need data we no longer require to pursue legal claims. Apart from storage, restricted data may only be processed under the conditions provided by law.

Under Article 20 GDPR, you may receive data you provided to us that we process automatically based on consent or a contract in a commonly used, machine-readable format. Where technically feasible, you may have it transmitted directly to another controller.

Withdrawal of consent

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Right to complain

Under Article 77 GDPR, you may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement.
